Stu Wagner

Hello there. I'm Stu Wagner. I am a veteran educator with extensive background in Special Education, Executive Function, Applied Behavior Analysis, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and ADHD. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Special Education from S.U.N.Y. Geneseo and my Master of Education in Learning and Technology from Western Governor's University. I believe in accepting people for who they are. I consider this my superpower. I attribute my successful career in education to this quality.

About

Stu

What advice would you give to a family who is on the fence about signing up for a learning assessment (or counseling/therapy)?

Change can be exciting and scary. The only way to change something is to do something different then you have been doing. Sometimes change is a choice; sometimes it is the consequence of not making a choice. I find that making a change is easier when it is a choice and not a consequence. What do you prefer? Choosing change or having change dictated to you?

What gets you excited about Parallel?

I get excited about Parallel because I see it as the next step in my life. As an educator I’ve been coaching for years. I see myself as someone who helps others unlock their potential. I am a facilitator who supports social and emotional learning. Two of my children are diagnosed with learning and thinking differences. I find my thoughts wander to the skills my children (and so many others) will need to navigate life. Although many of these skills are shaped in the classroom, many more are not. With my relationship with Parallel I hope to leverage my skills and education to improve the quality of life for others with thinking and/or learning differences.
