I am currently a full-time Certified Orton Gillingham tutor and was certified at the Children's Dyslexia Center. I was an elementary school teacher for over 20 years and taught Preschool-8th grade. I have used the differentiated small group approach throughout my teaching career and also received Gifted Student Training. Within my roles, I have supervised student teachers and several practicum students. I received graduate degrees from Olivet Nazarene University and Walden University in the area of reading and literacy instruction and a Reading Specialist Degree.
I have also taught courses online as an adjunct faculty member at both Concordia University-Nebraska and Ashford University. My courses have been focused on creating and implementing reading intervention plans, creating a literacy narrative case study, and college reading strategies.

My love of teaching reading, spelling, and writing through the Orton-Gillingham approach has led me to teach and tutor full-time through online formats. I love being able to reach as many people as possible through the online format to improve literacy skills.
My passion has always been reading and literacy instruction.I received my Orton-Gillingham certification from the Children’s Dyslexia Center organization. I continued to tutor with the center for several more years and became the director of the center. As the director, I oversaw the daily operations of the center. As the director, I also trained tutors to work with students with dyslexia. I continue to tutor online and belong to the International Dyslexia Association and The Reading League so that I can continue to improve my tutoring skills and keep current with evidence-based practices in teaching students who struggle with the written language.
I love working with students to improve their confidence in the areas of reading and written expression. I know that with the knew knowledge of written expression, everyone can achieve their dreams.
