Ann Marie Davis

I consider myself lucky in that I’ve always known what my passion is: learning! I’ve enjoyed learning in many different environments: a small town elementary school, a boarding, all-girls high school, across the globe, and in large universities. I’ve been teaching professionally for thirteen years and have a long history of volunteering in schools and with students.

About

Ann Marie

What advice would you give to a family who is on the fence about signing up for a learning assessment, support services or counseling/therapy?

I would advise them to remind themselves of why they first reached out for support. There is an intuition and personal reason for the initial ask, and now that we have moved forward in the process, it is understandable to be on the fence about moving forward, as moving forward means that change is on the horizon. Reminding themselves of their why, and reassuring them that Parallel is an organization that they can trust with the transformation that is to come, is essential for their own ownership and trust in the journey.

Why are you passionate about helping students with learning differences?

All learners deserve to have equitable learning experiences. Learning is transformative at every level and all deserve to learn and thrive.

What gets you excited about Parallel?

I am excited that Parallel is so clear on their vision, and that it feels so personal to each member of the organization. I am excited to experience a new work environment and learn about how else I can contribute to Parallel’s success.
