Learning Specialist, Executive Function Coach

Katherine Reedy

I have been working in independent day and boarding schools for the past 25 years as a learning specialist, program coordinator, and administrator. I have helped develop programs within boarding schools for students with learning differences, not only as an employee but also as a consultant. Outside of the learning environment, I have helped coach numerous students who either possessed a diagnosed learning difference or struggled to thrive in the learning environment. Additionally, I have supported families as a consultant or through direct support who have children who are struggling to find success in and out of the classroom.

My training includes too many to list, but include executive functioning training, learning specialist training, culturally responsive teaching training, and I
have led/facilitated training on executive functioning, learning differences, assessment, culturally responsive teaching.

About

Katherine

Why are you passionate about helping students with learning differences?

I am passionate about supporting students with learning differences because I believe that everyone possesses strengths and that those who are non-traditional learners are precisely the people who will be shaping and shifting policy and practice, for the better, for the world. Those who think differently provide new and innovative solutions to problems and frequently just need to gain skills and confidence to realize their true potential. Each day students I work with teach me something, humble me and inspire me to challenge my thinking and it is my hope that I can impart some nugget that can help them get to their "what's next."
