Mental Health Therapist/Counselor

Stephanie Casey, LMFT

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has challenges like everyone else. My life has its ups and downs. What I offer are personal and professional experiences that help others create change in a safe way. I believe that awareness is the key to making better choices. If you do not want to change, then be aware of why. Therapy is not about fixing. It’s about understanding.

About

Stephanie

What was your path to becoming a provider?

Human behavior is fascinating. There always seems to be a connection that needs to be linked in order to feel at peace. I am good at connecting those pieces. It’s rewarding to see others feel whole.

What advice would you give to a family who is on the fence about signing up for a learning assessment (or counseling/therapy)?

I offer families psychoeducation before diving into therapy so everyone understands the process. No one needs to be fixed but everyone needs to be understood. Effective communication is vital. It’s not about being right or wrong. It’s about being effective.

Why are you passionate about helping students with learning differences?

Passion is contagious. It’s energy brings things to life. Finding someone’s passion changes the course of life. If I can show these students that it’s not about how you learn it’s That you CAN learn. Once the stigma of non traditional learning is removed, that student soars! What a true blessing to watch!
