About

Torrey

What advice would you give to a family who is on the fence about signing up for a learning assessment (or counseling/therapy)?

As a parent/caregiver, you know your child more than anyone else. If your gut is telling you there is a need for intervention, listen to it. At the end of the day you are the expert on your child.

What would you say to someone who is very anxious about learning problems in school?

It’s ok to be anxious, but know there is a whole team behind them here to support them. Just because maybe they learn differently than other people they know, doesn’t mean they won’t be able to thrive and succeed at whatever they want to do.

Why are you passionate about helping students with learning differences?

I myself learned differently while I was in school. It took me a long time to realize and appreciate that my brain worked differently. I want to be able to teach student the beauty of having a learning difference.
