About

What was your path to becoming a provider?

I have always had a heart for teaching/helping children. As a teenager, I was always volunteering in the nursery or Sunday School class at church. I knew from an early age that I was meant to work with children. Attending college and finding my niche in Speech-Language Pathology helped me know what I wanted to be as an adult. I fell in love with learning about speech and language development and all the pathways there are to help maximize effective communication for an individual who is struggling.

What would you say to someone who is very anxious about learning problems in school?

Take it one step at a time. No need to put pressure on yourself. You are not alone and have support and strategies to help you achieve your goal.

What advice would you give to a family who is on the fence about signing up for a learning assessment (or counseling/therapy)?

It is always better to KNOW than to NOT KNOW if a family member needs extra help. It only helps that individual to have the ultimate success at being their best self.
