Lescira Binion

I am so excited to be a part of the Parallel New Paradigm family! My name is Lescira Binion and I have had the privilege of being a teacher for over 15 years. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wayne State University in Political Science and a Master in the Arts of Teaching with a Michigan Teaching Certification in Secondary Autism Spectrum Disorder (SV) K-12 Education. I have taught many grades including Kindergarten for 1 year; 1st-3rd grades for 5 years; 6th-8th grades for 4 years; 9th–12th grades for 3 years; all in the autism population. I have worked as a Resource Teacher for both middle school and high school. I completed my public-school teaching experience as a Special Education Teacher Consultant for Autism. I have a passion for helping all children reach their potential and love to challenge students to be curious and take chances when learning. I look forward to moving back into a teaching role where I can support all children. I look forward to getting to know you this year! - Mrs. Lescira Binion, MAT

I have been married for 31 years, I am a mother of four wonderful children, 3 boys and 1 girl.  I am a grandmother of 3.  We have always encouraged our children to set goals and achieve them.

About

Lescira

What advice would you give to a family who is on the fence about signing up for a learning assessment (or counseling/therapy)?

All children can learn. Sometimes they may just need some assistance to successfully reach their goals.

What would you say to someone who is very anxious about learning problems in school?

There are many ways to learn, maybe we just have to discover what is best for you.

Why are you passionate about helping students with learning differences?

I believe all students should have the opportunity to reach their individual goals and be happy in life - learning gives that to us all.
