Motivating Students: Issues of Cognition and Literacy
In this session, leading Speech-Language Pathologist, Karen Dudek-Brannan Ed.D., M.S., CCC-SLP/L focuses on cognitive barriers to students being engaged and motivated in learning, with a specific focus on those with challenges learning to read and those with speech and language difficulties. Specific strategies from the Science of Reading will be discussed as a way to motivate students to be more engaged in learning, as well as other strategies.
