We know teachers are always on the hunt for fantastic books to add to their classroom libraries. We wanted to put together a list of books that focus on, or include characters with diverse learning styles or disabilities. Whether you have a student who would benefit from relatable characters and content, or you simply want to enrich your classroom library, these books offer increased representation and will make a wonderful addition to your collection.

While all of these books are available for purchase on Amazon, we always encourage our readers to support local bookstores, when possible.

A Note About "Othering"

"Othering" is the act of treating something as different from mainstream. For example, saying "Here are all these books about 'normal' children, and these are the books about other people who have learning disabilities." To avoid othering, make sure that all books are blended into your main library space and put into your regular reading rotation.
